POSE DOES FINAL CURTAIN CALL

THE CATEGORY IS, LIVE. WORK. POSE!!!

So it's been an ACTUAL minute since I've done any of these, and with pride month at an official end saw it befitting to end it off by saying farewell to a show that has now become a staple in every gay boys life (And if it hasn't yet, it better.)

The award-winning show that brought us ballroom and the true meaning of family has come to an end. Pose entered our lives with season 1 in 2018 bringing us an inside glimpse of the true matriarchs that made our community and their struggles in a world where no one understood who they were and saw no place for them.

Fast forward and we are in season 3, cast in the mid 90's with the AIDS epidemic still and the House of Evangelista coming full circle.

Pose always has centered itself around family and the importance of family to get through the darkest of days, what was more than regularly been preached by Mother Blanca who never made us forget. In the final season of Pose Mother Blanca is officially an empty nester with all her kids out the house and finding their own paths.  We see the houses (retired) now closer and ever legendary than ever in the ballroom community.  Of course making a legendary return in honor of Cubby's death battling against House of Khan and snatching the win.

We are shown the impact they have created for the trans and the gay community.  In this season we see Pray Tell live out his final days up until his death, and an ever glamorous Elektra being one of the first trans women to build an actual empire.

Mother Blanca too has found love in the form of a hot doctor who was raised on the other side of the piers, who too gets to get a glimpse into the world of the trans community and the struggles that they had to face in the 90's.  We see Angel and Papi's love fill our hearts and make us swoon ( Quite frankly a love overload that just made me jealous throughout the entire thing.), and their journey to the altar with one or two bumps along the way.

Pose has become a monumental and iconic television show which has impacted so many lives in the LGBTQI+ community including mine.  Never did we think we would see a cast of trans women on our television screens and kill the game, become icons not only on screen but off screen. Women that have told all of our stories for the world to see and hear.

Never did we think we would see our faces on those screens and hear and let our voices be heard.  Pose has become a beacon for everyone in the community, it brought back ballroom and the strong significance it bares to the trans community.  The different houses that have become safe haven to those who never had one.  This show has shown the immense strength we possess, our resilience to never giving up and fighting for what we believe in.  Standing tall and proud in our truth and remembering that it is one of our greatest weapons, being who we are..

And being fabulous doing it....

Pose has taught us that we are a family, and that family shows up for one another and fights for one another (And just like that Mother Blanca flew out my mouth as I write this).

Pose has become the Vogue for little boys and girls and for anyone feeling lost.  This show has shown us that we can do anything and achieve greater than we thought we could have..
