Victoria Secret Angel fashion show 2024 is coming back October 15th

For the first time since 2019 this October we will hear the thrilling sound of the stage director call out ''Angels line up, Candice to the runway.''

The Victoria Secret runway show is making a triumphant come back since announcing in 2019 that they no longer will be doing the annual fashion show, which led to a re-brand after controversies were linked to the company which backfired horribly in their faces.

This years show is set to be bigger and grander than anything VS has done before bringing in new musical talent, being more inclusive with their model selection and calling back legendary angels back to the runway.

Victoria Secret has been a staple for women's lingerie since the 70's, the company was founded by Roy and Gaye Raymond because he was embarrassed when purchasing lingerie for his wife at a department store.

"When I tried to buy lingerie for my wife, I was faced with racks of terry-cloth robes and ugly floral-print nylon nightgowns, and I always had the feeling the department store saleswomen thought I was an unwelcome intruder."

The company was later sold to Lex Wexner in 1982 growing the company to 350 stores bringing the company's value to 1.5 billion in 1990, sky rocketing it into the multi billion company it is today.

The first runway show was held in 1995 becoming a strong part of the brand for Victoria Secret. The first show was held in New York becoming a strong image for the company for 23 year's.

Models Helena Christensen, Karen Mulder, Daniela Peštová, Stephanie Seymour, and Tyra Banks became the first Angels. There have been 41 Angels in total since 1997.

The name 'Angels' was coined in 1997 giving birth to the iconic Angels after they appeared in an ad to promote Victoria's Secret's "Angels" underwear collection. From then on, the Angels became an elite group of models that were carefully selected to become the face and voice of the brand.

In 1999, its annual fashion show aired for the first time online and was described as the internet-breaking moment of that time after 1.5 million people tried to tune in and crashed the site.

Over the years VS umbrella branched out into perfume and athleisure and PINK which was aimed at attracting the younger consumer and women.

The VS stage was graced by some of the worlds most popular musical acts including Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Halsey, Harry Styles and Kanye West. Featuring elaborate costumes and historical venues all around the world to models sporting ornamental angels 'wings', down the runway. The shows became a yearly attraction for many.

The show faced backlash and experienced reduced viewership in 2016-2018 for not casting more inclusive models, plus size and transgender models, and later was pushed aside by the world with the birth of Savage x Fenty lingerie and runway show launched by Rihanna, which accommodated a more inclusive list of models of various variations.

In November 2019 Victoria Secret announced they no longer would be hosting their annual fashion show.

2024!!!! and the show is coming back with a bang, bringing back some of the OG angels like Tyra Banks and Candice Swanepoel and introducing a new range of models.

This years musical set list is set to be an women show which would be a first for the show introducing in acts like South African superstar Tyla, to the legendary Cher and Lisa.

Imaan Hamman, Grace Elizabeth and Taylor Hill among many legendary angels will be walking the show.

It reported that the 2024 Victoria Secret Fashion show will deliver precisely what consumer and fans have been asking for, the glamour, runway, fashion, fun, wings, entertainment, all through a powerful, modern lens reflecting who they are today.
