Balmain enters new era for FW25

THE NEW BALMAIN ERA

The first quarter of the fashion season has started quite strong with the usual heavy hitters coming in strong and this year it was no different for Balmains creative director Olivier Rousteing.

Titled The New Balmain Era, the fall winter 2025 ready to wear collection was quite unexpected from the usual boldness that is received from Balmain.

This new collection is a balance of contrasts, cocooning shapes and fierce leather as seen on the runway.

In an interview Olivier said ' I want to make a new softness, with shapes that are cocooning'

The collection featured wild animal pattern sheering a statement of force and femininity.

This collection is softer, more feminine featuring knitted sweaters, softer fabrics changed up with oversize coats and flanigans with slouchy sweaters and over sized knee high boots taking center stage.

Rousteing added architecture to fashion, surely evolved from the bold balmain army that has been clearing the runways for years.

In an added statement Rousteing said 'She's still the same woman, she's just evolving.'

This collection is more about comfort and we are loving it with all the over-sized garments and the signature hoods.

The textures were smooth, fuzzy, and noticeably the boots were doing most of the heavy lifting.

Roustieng reminded us that dressing down can be high fashion with an elevated twist.
